An integral part of Canberra’s Subculture history, Impact Records was opened around 1975 by Tony Harris & Mick Telling
Impact records was located originally in Lombard house before moving to another spot on the boulevard.

The boulevard was another classis Enrico Taglietti building and at the time was a hotspot of alternative activity with the Terrace bar and The boulevard twin cinemas (Electric shadows).

In October 1991 Impact Moved to the corner of east row and City Walk.
A conversation with The daughter of Tony Harris leads me to believe he sold his share around this time.
Impact was sold to Jb hifi in 2004 in what i believe to be a “Take the offer or we will put you out of business” type deal.
Mick is still in business selling Music under the name “Phoenix Music Australia” At first this was a bricks and mortar store in sydney but can now be found on ebay.

My mother would buy me CDS and shirts from Impact on her lunch break and was the place i first started buying 2nd hand vinyl records.
The transformers collection above the comic counter was when i first realised some adults collected toys and was the direct influence to me starting to collect Ninja Turtles toys when i was about 12, which turned into a lifelong obsession.

Here is some Impact records Ephemera i have collected over many years.
